Weekly rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings. They are usually held at Queen Elizabeth Academy and during school term time. Dates and venues are published on the website. (See calendar on Homepage).
There is plenty of free parking.
We start at 7:00pm and finish by 9:00pm. There is usually a brief break.
Members are advised to bring their own water.
We hold these at least once a term so that we can have an intensive practice session when we’re learning new pieces, including breaking up into ‘sectional’ or different voice part rehearsals.
Any study days closer to concert time focus on finer details like dynamics and shape.
We hold our study days on Saturdays and generally start at 09.30 - 10.30 depending upon the length of time we need for rehearsing.
There is a short break with refreshments provided. For an extended day you will need your own lunch.
We normally rehearse at the concert venue in the afternoon of the concert, with the musicians and soloists who will be performing with us. Times vary, but these dress rehearsals generally finish by 4pm at the latest.
